My Norton Antivirus just caught "packed.generic.200" and cannot remove it.
Unfortunately, the virus is keeping me from accessing any websites that aren't in my bookmarks, keeping me from Windows Update, from any Norton or Symantec sites, and when I use a search engine, it redirects to coupon sites.
I have also done some research and found that this virus is fairly new, probably originated in Russia, and it keeps me from installing most spyware or adware programs. Malwarebytes will not install nor does my existing Adaware see it.
Please help as not having internet is killing me. I am using a different computer for this post.

on a different computer, download, Ccleaner slim (no toolbar) and Malwarebytes and then Avast free plus all the updates (on the avast site) and burn them to a cd or load them on a thumbdrive, then install it on the problem PC. Let it do a bootscan on reboot and move all it finds to the chest.
Run the 1st two progs before Avast so as to clean out all the junk before the avast bootscan. That will make avast move along faster. Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

you shouldn't run 2 av's at the same time, lots of conflicts.
Did you already do what I mentioned? Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
