Outlook shuts down on launch

When Outlook is launched I immediately get Outlook Express has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" when I click send error report Microsoft tells me i need an update when I try to update guess what? " IE has encountered a problem and needs to shut down" So now i cant update my outlook either This is not the first time I encountered this problem previously this error report spread through most of my programs so that anytime I needed to input data through my keyboard I would get this eror report I then decided after failing to load an earlier restore point it seems that this to had been affected I reloaded XP and now I find the same thing happening i am running Zone alarm Pro AVG ADaware all updated and none find any probs HELLLLLLLLP
Have you tried uninstalling Outlook Express? When you installed Outlook, what program did you select to be your default email program(Outlook or Outlook Express)? What version of Microsoft Office are you using? Have you installed all the updates for XP and Office?
