You probably have that autorun.inf virus that is going around. What it does is put a file called autorun.inf in your hard drive, so you will need to delete this file. Sometimes they hide the file so you will need to turn on hidden files and folders. To do this:
1. Open up Windows Explorer
2. Go to Tools on the menu bar and select Folder Options
3. Click on the View tab
4. Look for Hidden Files and Folders and select the radio button, "Show Hidden Files and Folders
5. Below that, uncheck the box that says Hide Protected Operating System filesThis will allow you to see the file so you can delete it.
Now, in Windows Explorer click on the C Drive to bring up its contents. You should see the autorun.inf in the C Drive (or whatever drive you select). Delete this file. This should allow you to double click on your C drive again.
Now you need to remove the virus and associated startup item. Download Whizzo CleanSuite it's an all-in-one program that you can just one touch cleanup and it will take care of most of your problem. Make sure you click on update before you run the program so you get the latest definition files. After you run the One-Touch do not restart your computer. Instead, keep Whizzo CleanSuite open and go to the Advanced Features section. Open CleanStart and check for any leftover entries in your startup. If you see any odd looking startup items then delete them.
Then download HijackThis! and post your log so we can see what is leftover. There may be some leftover files in your system32 or Windows folder. After you post the log I can see what is leftover in your system so you may not want to restart your computer until we see if there is anything else to cleanup. I look forward to seeing how things went!
