Hi, When ever I try to open any sort of .exe file, my computer asks me to choose a program to open the file with. I have no idea what's going on. Before it started doing this, my windows explorer kept crashing so I rebooted. Now I cannot open any .exe files Although, I can get onto firefox. Not through a desktop icon or through program files or even through the start bar. At the bottom of the "open with" window is a link to a microsoft page. If I click it, it lets me onto firefox without an "open with" window popping up.

If this is the "Virut" virus it is almost impossible to remove and usually requires a fomat and reinstall of windows. If it is not we may can help. I don't see an antivirus running, you need to install one before you continue or you will quickly be reinfected. I use the free version of AVG antivirus, you can download it at this link: AVG Free Antivirus Update it once you get it installed. Empty the restore folder. Go to start>control panel>system>system restore tab>check the box beside "turn off system restore>apply (takes a minute)>ok. Go back and uncheck the box to turn system restore back on>apply>ok. Download ATF Cleaner from this link: http://www.majorgeeks.com/ATF_Cleaner_d4949.html Run ATF-Cleaner Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program. Under Main choose: Select All Click the Empty Selected button. Run an online scan with Kaspersky from the following link: Kaspersky Online Scanner Note: If you have used this particular scanner before, you MAY HAVE TO UNINSTALL the program through Add/Remove Programs before downloading the new ActiveX component 1. Click Accept, when prompted to download and install the program files and database of malware definitions. 2. Click Run at the Security prompt. The program will then begin downloading and installing and will also update the database. Please be patient as this can take several minutes. 3.Once the update is complete, click on My Computer under the green Scan bar to the left to start the scan. 4.
