Hello,
My partner who runs WinME has a worm on her computer which is very annoying. It seems to be one of the Opaserv ones but the tool provided by Symantec does not solve the problem.
This one opens applications, closes applications, resizes various items and so on.
It did have a link to Alevir.exe in the startup but I've removed that. Can't find any trace of the Brasil files Symantec talk about. They don't seem to mention Alevir.
Getting really annoyed and frustrated as she has already reformatted once recently to get rid of similar rubbish.
Can anyone help please?

See all the other posts on this page about the opaserv, alevir, brasil.pif, marco!.scr, scrsvr.exe etc. they're all the same virus, essentially.
I believe alevir.exe is the exact same as scrsvr.exe, just a different name. (Brasil.pif on the other hand has a different size as well)
I remember reading once on Norton's website that sometimes other viruses are getting packaged in with this virus. They recommended a full system scan to check for others. If I were you, I'd also go ahead and protect your system using the method I've posted on all the other sites.

That'll close your system off from the virus so you can scan for the rest.
