ravage, Doing a search for nmm.exe it appears that file has something to do with erotica/fetish/leather (porn). You may want to download, install, update then run Ad-aware and Spybot Search & Destroy.

Assume you updated and ran the latest antivirus and ad removal programs to automatically remove malware, and these EXE files remained.

IDENTIFY MALWARE

charmape.exe sounds like a malware, but one way to identify a malware is to right-click on the suspected file and select the Version tab for the company name.

Do a Find or Search of this charmape.exe file on "MY Computer" to locate it.

Locate the EXE file in Windows Explorer - most likely there is a copy of the EXE file in your system folder also.

If it's in your system folder, go up to the View menu bar, select "Arrange Icons By Type."

Scroll down to locate all the EXE files. Does either this nmm.exe or charmape.exe have an icon that is different than the usual EXE icon? If they both do, they might be malware EXE files. These EXE files with an unusual icon often also share the same date. Are these EXE files from the same company?

Right-click on the EXE file, select Properties, click Version tab to identify the company name.

Once you identified the suspected file name and company name, search the Internet and antivirus sites by either file or company name to verify these EXE files are malware.

Once you have confirmed and identified these EXE files are downloaded malware from the same company, you could highlight and delete these malware EXE files from your (system) folder. I delete 60+ EXE from company totempole.

Empty Recycle Bin.

Reboot PC. If everything is well after restart, I would delete Internet temporary files, cookies, and *.tmp files. Scan and defrag hard drive and create a full backup.

Your computer should work faster now.
