Comment: I am a network administrator. Last month i experienced for the first time the mouse odd problem. It was on a single computer, and it rarely appears. But now , almost all my computers in the network have the same odd mouse problem. First i suspected that PS2 port on the motherboard of the first computer was damaged, so i send the computer to the computer service. There was no PS2 problem. Motherboard was tested on another system, with a PS2 mouse, and it was ok. Because 2/3 of my network have the odd mouse problem, this is for sure a virus. All my antiviruses reports nothing suspicious. But the problem is still there. I want to specify that a dirty mouse does not click crazy, at most the cursor will not move to desired location. And when u change 3 new mouses on the same system, this is no more a "dirty mouse" problem. On one of my INFECTED systems I formatted the HDD, I installed Win98Se using clean install, also I installed all the software from clean CD's, and THE PROBLEM WAS GONE. I want to mention that a trojan attack from outside cannot be possible, because the problem exists even when the network cable is unplugged. I will be greatful if somebody somehow can help me with this problem. I edited all my .js, .jse, .vbs, .scr, .shs, .shb and .wsh to open/edit/install with notepad, but all my efforts are useless. Ty, DemonBDC

Reply: (edit)You could try the free Anti-Trojan prog SWAT IT from.... http://lockdowncorp.com/bots/downloadswatit.html A scan took around one hour on my PC. A faster scan from a 30 day free trial prog, Trojan Hunter, can be D/L from.... http://wilders.org/ More Trojan info available from... www.thepublicworks.com N.B. some trojans can easily slip past AV progs.

Reply: (edit)I want to mention that i found a poor remedy: when the PS2 mouse starts flicking arround, I unplug it for about 5-6 second then plug it back. The system is good for 15-20 minutes, or maybe for the entire Windows session if i am really lucky. SWAT IT didn't found anything malicious or suspicious, TAUSCAN seems to be a good looking program, i don't know how powerful it is, because i have no trojans in my systems.. Tauscan reported that my systems are clean. I am desperate.
