Hey guys. Does anyone know how to stop the pop-up windows in Sygate, that says ntoskrnl.exe was blocked from accessing the network. Already took sygate out of sys tray and checked do not show message again.
Thanks.

I am new to this Forum. I was Googling for ntoskrnl.exe, as Sygate keeps popping up on my PC too. This is how I found this forum :-) However, the above doesn't quite answer my question. Why does Sygate block it? I thought it was something windows needed. The only thing I could find on it was:
ntoskrnl.exe is a critical process in the boot-up cycle of your computer although should never appear in Win Tasks whilst under normal circumstances
Note: ntoskrnl.exe can be altered by the w32.bolzano and variants. If this process appears in Win Tasks, please update your virus definitions immediately.
How do I find that out? Don’t even know where to look at Win Tasks. My question is basically, should Sygate be blocking it, or not?

Cheers
Judy

It's safe to allow ntoskrnl.exe and to check the box for Sygate to remember! All ntoskrnl.exe was trying to do was send an echo to my LAN Default Gateway address which is harmless! With ZoneAlarm it was never an issue because it was allowed by default.
