For about a week now NPF 2003 throws up alert that firewall is switched off. It should be! I am running Sygate. This is new behaviour and I am not aware of anything that has changed/should cause it apart from Symantec Live Updates. I cannot find any way to stop this (alert is always on top, appears every few seconds in mid screen) and the only way to continue working is to move the window far enough to bottom of the screen to allow me to still see programs in the task bar. Has anyone met this problem and knows what to do?. Norton no longer support this version by email even though I had it installed with my new computer just 15 months ago, and my update subscription is valid to June 2006.
I would be most grateful to anyone who can help pleaseRogerC

r u sure its norton?? do u have service pack 2? bcuz service pack 2 has a thing that if antivirus, firewall or windows update is not installed or turned off it will notify you

Yes, definitely Norton as follows:
>> -Firewall protection is turned offOpen your Norton product to resolve these issues.
[checkbox] To prevent duplicate security status alerts, use my existing Norton product alerts and turn off redundant Windows Security Center alerts. (recommended)<<
Checking or not checking the box makes no difference. Thanks for any ideas

This problem is getting really bad. The Norton subscription has another 12 months to run, but unless I can find an answer I think I may have to throw it out. I now believe that it is interfering with my Firefox. The browser refuses to load my home page but allows others (such as this one). I am using a Netgear DG834G router, and the Windows 98 computer on another router port works fine with all websites (so it doesn't appear to be a firewall related problem). Does anyone else have any clues as to what I can do please? Thanks to anyone who can help.

Same problem here... very irritating, and just started today (27 June). Any help would be appreciated.
Matthew
