I recently got a virus (Revop & Rameh) and I think I got them cleaned out. (Link to description http://www.computing.net/security/wwwboard/forum/10780.html) Anyway, When I click on .txt files it says Notepad.exe doesn't exist. I figured a simple re-install on WinXp would do the trick, but I re-installed and have the same problem. Any info on how to re-install Notepad?

Can you bring up Notepad using the run command?
Click on START, click on RUN, enter notepad in the box, click on OK.

mts04988, You can download a copy of notepad.exe if you need to at the link below which also shows you where the file belongs for your version of Windows(Windows XP-C:\WINDOWS and C:\WINDOWS\System32).

Unless you have the Qaz Trojan, you shouldn't even have to download a new copy of the Notepad.exe.
In XP, as well as 2K and NT), the operating system automatically replaces the missing copy from the Windows/System32 directory. Even if that one is deleted, it will replace it from Windows/System32/dllcache.
If you do have the Qaz Trojan, you may want to check out the link below. The trojan renames notepad.exe to note.com, hence it can't be found.
