Notebook suddenly véry slow

Acer / ASPIRE 6530G

Specs: Windows Vista, 3,00 GB
my acer aspire 6530g has suddenly become
very very slow, I have absolutely no clue of what is going on, when I open TaskMessenger and look on the CPU, there is almost no use of CPU, and I have run all sorts of registry cleaners, virusscanners, and
functions of windows itself, like System recovery, (although system recovery will give me an error everytime it's finished, it says system recovery didn't work.)
My notebook has not been slowing progressively just because it's getting older,
but really just overnight, and that is which makes it hard to understand to me.

I hope any of you can help me with my problem, it would mean a lot to me.
