I don't know if this means anything. My son has a new xp that I networked with my me. He has McAfee for his antivirus. Today a message came up stating unwanted program.
C:\Document and settings\sons computer name\local setting\ie\temp internet\topmins2(1).cab. I couldn't fix it so I quarantined it. I can't find out anything on this.

IIRC the new Dells ship with a "Gold disc" reinstaller so that if you do screw up your new PC you run this and it restores the machine to factory default. You lose any programs you've loades but this removes all malware that's been installed since.

The real problem I find with spyware is that it's so poorly written that it damages your OS when it installs itself and you have to run Repair (at the least!) after you've removed it. Some spyware deliberately damages your OS to make it more difficult to uninstall, which in my view should send the programmer to prison if he can be found.
