About 2 weeks ago Live Update updated my Norton products automaticly and since then I am having a problem scanning for viruses of programs that I download while I am still on the internet.
It takes sometimes 2 or 3 minutes for Norton to scan for a virus while I am on the internet. The process that I am doing is the same as I always did:
Download the Item
Right Click (on item) to Scan For VirusMy internet icon that is in the system tray shows response when I do this (as if Norton is reading the file while I'm on the internet).
If I close out of the internet and then scan the item for a virus it works like it should without any hangups.
I checked Norton's site for this issue, but came up empty.
If anyone knows why this occurs please reply.
Thanks in advance, sprank
p.s. If it matters I am using 2003 Norton AV and Firewall till it expires later this year.

There was a reported slow down problem a week or so ago with users of NAV2004, that was caused by a conflict with "verisign". How do you have your updates set "express or interactive mode"(control panel>symantec icon)? If it is the "interactive mode" manually run a "live update" and see if there are any major components that need to be updated, and restart if necessary.

sprank, You can read about the Norton/Verisign Problem at the links below.
