Hi,
I have problem with norton system works 2004 pro. Everything seem to be O.K, Live update works fine, e-mail and virus scanning are o.k.
The Only problem is that whenever I want to run the program (norton system works or its other applications such as norton anti virus) it takes long time (10 minutes or so!) to appear on the desktop or when I right click on its Icon and choose "run as" and click o.k then I get a message saying that "norton system works has encountered an internal error, please reinstall system works".I did a search in symantec web site and found an article and followed the instruction....I have uninstalled and installed again and so forth but unfortunately no luck...
I don't know whatelse I can do...this problem existed before I upgraded to XP Sp2.
I would appreciate any comments.
Thanks
davoud

Norton had problems doing a complete uninstall. They had a downloadable program on their website that can be used to clean out everything if needed. You may want to try that and re-install.
I've used Norton products for years and to be frank have had problems with them, more so since Symantec bought the company. The programs take up lots of resources.
