After using Norton AV for years, I had it and replaced it with BitDefender and Spyware Doctor.
Although I followed the traditional steps to remove the AV program, it seems Symantec keeps a bunch of files around for no reason.
Its been six months since I removed it but although the program is not listed anyware, it left behind a folder in Progam Files\Norton Antivirus\Advance Tools and another for Savrt.
Of course, if I try to delete the folders, it stop right away with "Cannot delete NDRVEX.DLL
How can I clean it up? I will appreciate ideas.I hate bugs

maybe go to the Norton site and find the removal tools for your version
Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

There is a great windows utility called unlocker (ccollomb.free.fr). When you get that stupid cannot delete message you right click on the program and click unlock and like magic, you can delete it.
Also, as mentioned, search the registry.
