norton probs(live update+website)

Heya, I have a problem with Norton Internet Security 2005. I cannot run live update, it says that it is unable to connect to the host. Also I cannot access any Symantec websites.
I have check the host file and there is nothing relevant in there.

If you can access other web sites then there are a couple of viruses which target AV update sites & associated files. Have you run a virus check?, can you access one of the on-line AV sites?, do you have access to another machine to download the Intelligent Updater from Norton's site? If it's possible your best option is to remove the drive & scan it with another machine.
