I know this is not the answer you are looking for, but if you'd like....just install Avast! 4 home edition which is free and if you need a good firewall use Sygate Personal Firewall which is also free.... a good combo. From the past I know that Norton bogs down a system as it is bloatware and these other products are GREAT free replacements. The choice is yours, but I would suggest on uninstalling Norton if you go this route. I haven't had any problems in 5 years. Hope that Helps.

Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

Go to this website. Use the downloads feature at the top of the page. Then scroll down to liveupdate and download and then install the latest version(2.7), which should solve your problem. When you set up Norton be sure to use the Symantec Liveupdate settings that are in the control panel. I suggest that you use the express mode. then set the appropriate security settings. HTH
