1)Is it worth getting Norton Internet security?
I have Zonealarm, Adware Se, Spybot and Norton Antivirus.
2)I would like to be able to surf with out leaving infomation on my machines(okay I look at porn occationally but I prefer my wife to not see my tracks even tho' she knows I do!!)
3)I also get sent confidential legal emails with Word attachments. Even though I deleted them I was horrified to find loads when I did a search with FIND using *.doc

Thanks in advance for taking the effort to reply; this forum has never let me down...!

I would only use NIS if I had a router with a hardware firewall. It would be to monitor outgoing traffic. Norton's firewall testing results are not the best. The tests that Fred Langa recently reported have Look n' Stop in first place and Zone Alarm comes in second, as does the tests at PC Flank.

You might want to try Anonymizer to keep your surfing hidden.

Re.(2) there s/ware progammes that will erase tracks - but for simplicity you may find that by going into IE properties and deleting history and temp internet files (including all offline content)may be sufficient. Also, if you have google on your toolbar, uncheck 'save search history..' in options, more.

NO, you can get better protection for a lot less money.

Norton has become almost as invasive as M$.

Thank you all! I will put the money for NIS in the Tsunami Fund instead...

1)I was told that I did not need a firewall as I have a router (Speedtouch 510) but feel more secure with my ol buddy Zonealarm!
2) I have been doing the IE deleting history and temp. routine, suggested by Martin J but was shocked to see when I was adding a hyperlink in Excel, there was a list of recently browsed web pages too! That's why I asked and will look into Capt's suggestion of Anonymizer...
3)So best to stick with doing a *.doc search at the end of each day and deleting the 'hidden' word docs.
