ok when i try to boot up everythin goes as normal until the go back splash screen comes up...the little bar runs out and it says please wait. after a minute or two it goes to a black screen that says failure gb_genlog(175) for go back. symantec's website told me a fix and it scans my computer and tells me that go back isnt installed. i have spent a while on the phone with symantec tech support and they have told me there is nothin they can do. i could easily format my computer but ironically when i restarted my computer i was in the process of backing up my files to format. there is still stuff on there i cant lose. thanks in advance...

have you tryed reinstalling norton, before you do make sure you type %TEMP% in the run window, and delete all the files in there. Also deselect all the start up's(msconfig, in the run window) I also did a disk clean up before, and disconnected the internet, and it had no problems, because before I couldnt get norton to work properly lots of times, but by doing this stuff it worked.

Is there maybe something wrong with your hardware? like your memory sticks? my computer would keep shutting down and going back to the loading screen. It was a faulty memory stick, I then got another new one supposedly tested, and it did it again. I finally just went out and bought the best quality mem stick I could find, and ive had no probs. Sounds like it might be a different problem though,I've never heard of this Go back failure, sorry I can't be of any help.
