Everytime I got to my ISP, Earthlink.net, I am bombarded by notices from Norton Personal Firewall that "An attempt to send the information you specified as "Unknown" over the Internet has been made to liveperson.net." I then am given the choice of permitting or blocking this information.
I have two questions: first, what is liveperson.net (sometimes it comes as sales.liveperson.net) and should I block or permit the information to be sent and second, why does the alert come every second with no end? How can I make it stop. Does NPF have an option to always do the selected choice for a given request?

BTW, just had the same problem at the computing.net website when trying to post a question. Kept getting the firewall message computing.net was trying to receive my email address. What gets me is if I allow these items to be sent the same message appears instantly and I have to say yes only to get the message again, over and over and over.

At each notice you will see a check box to "use this setting" or something along those lines. You won't keep getting the notice if you check this box. As for the annoyances, did you scan your computer for programs that have internet access when you installed NPFW??? Open the firewall, goto the options tab and click on scan computer.

Thanks for the response. I thought of that but my NPF alerts don't have a check box to always do the same thing. Do I have to set that up in my preferences in NPF?
