Hi everyone,

I went to reinstall my Norton Anti-virus 2003 Professional the other day and a Windows Installer window comes up and says, "The configuration data for this product is corrupt."

Can this be fixed and how would it be done to where I can install Norton 2003?

Try the removal tool rnav2003 to get rid of all traces on your previous installation. Run the tool and try the installation again. Before you reinstall NAV2003, be sure to download and install the latest version of liveupdate(2.5), available from the Symantec website under downloads. It is not an automatic update, and definnitely will not be available with your NAV2003 installation cd.

Well, the symantec search links don't work...
you'll have to enter the search queries yourself. For "The configuration data for this product is corrupt."
and
"missing symevnt.386"

Good luck

This is the NAV.log file. Can you make anything of it?

Thanks guys.

I figured it out. I had to go into the registry and delete all instances of F8939C4F6C6BB4A4B8D697C58DF619D5. I restarted and then the NAV 2003 Professional installer worked.
