Comment:
I've recently scanned my laptop for viruses using Norton Internet Security and it finds Trojan.Anserin threat and the filename is ibm00001.dll. It finds it however it cannot delete it, i'm wondering if anyone can help me as to how i can get rid of it as it's making my internet freeze up and i have to reboot every 5 minutes when i'm on the internet. Thanks.
Because the Safe Mode only loads the absolute minimum in Windows drivers and sometimes virii and trojans attach themselves to Windows functions.
In the Safe Mode you can quite often get rid of problems that you can't in the regular Windows mode.
That being said, download the Virtumonde removal tool on this page. http://www.f-secure.com/sw-desc/vir... virus you have often disables the ability of regular antivirus software to kill it off.
Sometimes I think I understand everything, then I regain consciousness
A removal tool (see #3) is always the best thing to try first but if this fails and you can't hook out the file in Safe Mode then try the freebie program "Move on Boot".
