If you know the scan item is spyware free configure Adaware to ignor/allow it. Try this;

Hello Tufenuf, and all, Ran Norton AV from SafeMode - and once in safe mode, i disabled system restore. After running Norton in Safe Mode, i re-enabled system restore and i booted back into normal Windows.

I Have done the above, in Safe Mode, did not find the Ad-aware. Ran it again in Normal Mode, and it found it again.

I can locate the file, not sure about the program it represents though, as i downloaded the Ebay, Google, Skype toolbars.
My Wife went and downloaded loads of rubbish on Sunday, took 3 or 4 hours to remove the trash she put on, told her off.

This maybe one of the toolbars she downloaded and maybe a leftover of my deleting and running countless adware and virus on and off-line programs, don't know though.

Here's it's location and Name. C:\WindowsNDNuninstall7_exe is an Adaware threat Adware.NDotNet

The Other one which i mistakenly Excluded is:C:Windows\System32\xzwgwgt.exe is an Adware threat Adware.Hotbar.

I can locate and delete these files, but don't know what programs they belong too??

Should i delete the files and re-run the scan??

Thanks, GEP

GEP, The first thing I'd do is go to the link below and download the WinsockXPFix Program and save it just in case you need it later. Sometimes removing the NewDotNet causes you to not be able to connect to the Internet. It's better to be safe than sorry.

WinsockXPFix

Check your Add/Remove Programs for NewDotNet and Hotbar. If they're there uninstall them. The NDNuninstall7_exe appears to be the uninstaller file for NewDotNet as shown at the link below.

NewDotNet Info

For the Adware.Hotbar garbage the link below has a Removal Tool under the removal instructions you may want to try.

Adware.Hotbar

Keep us posted how you're making out getting rid of this garbage.

Hello Tufenuf, Uninstalled NewDotNet o.k., rebooted, did not need to use that winsock program. Downloaded the Hotbar removal tool, said it was not on my computer, so will run another Norton scan.

Thanks, GEP
