Intelligent Updater is Norton's "do it yourself kit", when updates are available but not available yet through Live Update yet you can get them with it if you like, more info at this link
The date at the bottom of the page will give you an idea when these changes took place, I continue to use Live Update instead of Intelligent Updater

DW, i have a question, on my virus definitions date it has 5/1/2002, does that sound like its up to date to you? because i have it on Automatic live update and it wont do it i have to manually click on the LiveUpdate icon at the top when i open Norton Antivirus 2002, any reasons you think why its not doing it by itself?
Thanks for the reply

That date is normal and up to date. Symantec no longer releases updates through Live Update every 2-3 days like they used to. They now only release them once a week usually on Wednesday. So tomorrow you should check for updates.

I have complained many times about Norton's new policy, there was no mention of any changes when I purchased the newest version of Norton.
They now have the Live Update info listed at this link under "Am I Protected", it will list
the date as well as the number of virus definitions, if yours matches you have the latest update available through Live Update, I just checked
& your date is the correct date for right now, there should be a new one soon though.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm??????
Why is it that Norton AV makes me think of a sleezy used car salesman trying to flog a rusty old VW at a new Rolls Royce price?
