I can't get the auto protect to enable. I tried the norton solutions, tried other virus scans. nothing worked yet. Would adjusting the boot order of the ccapp.exe file work. any ideas. I'm new at this. george

Is this an upgrade from an earlier version of Norton antivirus? If it is you need to get the Symantec removal tool for NAV called rnv2003. Then uninstall NAV2004 and run the tool to get rid of all traces of the old version of NAV. If you cannot uninstall MAV, the tool will do it, but it is not the preferred way to uninstall th eprogram. A couple of other things to check. Make sure you have liveupdate 2.0 installed(add/remove programs). You can get it at the Symantec website under downloads. Also check your liveupdate icon in the control panel and make sure liveupdate is set to express instead of interactive. Norton runs very deep in Windows, for example, it uses the Windows Task Manager to schedule scans, etc. Check the task manager to make sure all the NAV settings are established.
