Comment:

My anti-virus software (AVG) has found the nimda virus.

The load.exe has been deleted but all the other infected files reside in the c:\_restore\temp folder and the infected files have a ".cpy" file extention. Does anyone know how i can delete these files, i have tried going into safe mode, but they still wont delete.

Can anyone help me? Is it possible to delete the whole folder in dos, or even the files, and if so can someone help me on how to do it as i am not familiar with DOS?

I assume you have winme or xp. Disable System Restore, those files are protected. In Me, go to System Properties in control panel, perfomance, file system, troubleshooting. Uncheck system restore
In Xp go to System Properties, System restore, and turn it of on all drives.
Then you can delete the files in question.

Your hosed, no matter what you do to try to get rid of nimda , it will find it's way back and even if you get rid of it, your files and programs will never run right again. I had it , I tryed for a few weeks to get rid of nimda, I did, but my system never ran right after I got rid of nimda.
