i just downloaded some cd writing software (Burn4Free) and installed it on my computer. then probably 5 minutes later, my zone alarm permission dialog popped up asking for permission to allow NHUpdater.exe to access the internet. not knowing what it was, i searched for it and found here, which brings me to my question. does anyone know if this file came from the Burn4Free software i downloaded (or at least if it's ever been associated with the software), or might it be something else? ive searched google and i can't find anything related to where NHUpdater comes from.
Thanks Toph
PS...i know there was a previous post on that hijacker but when i tried posting in there, it wouldn't let me because it was too old (newb to the forums i be).

if you read the FAQ at burn4free it says they include NavHelper with their program. If you do a search for NavHelper, Symantec says that is a Browser helper/adware. Other people call it a hijacker. you probably don't want NHUpdater.exe to run.

Navhelper is incorporated into a lot of programs that get downloaded from the internet. One program that I have would install unless I agreed to have Navhelper install too. I let it install and then I fixed my firewall to not let it connect to the internet at all and so far it has not affected the performance of the program itself. But I also think that you can uninstall it too.
