The new updated version of Zone Alarm pro has many new features. Most that make things much easier for controlling program activity, it also has a new user interface that is really good, IMHO. There is one problem area for many users. It has an antivirus monitor, which is causing problems for users that use Macaffee and FProt. My Etrust program at least worked. However, the Zone Alarm Monitor reported it as not being updated or being actively enabled to monitor my system. This monitor apparently came about because Zone Labs is now offering a firewall/antivirus combination package for $19.95 now. Just tought I would pass on my experience with the update. Take care and all the best!

There seems to be all kinds of problems with Version 5 both Pro and Free so I would updating and stay with 4.5 . all kinds of reports of problems on Zonelabs user forums . Do not install 5.0 .

Thanks capt and vipergg for the info....I think I'll stay with the 4.5 also; for time being, anyways.

Not everyone who upgrade to ZA 5.0 is having "issues" folks. Granted many are but I for one had zero problems. Just wanted to make sure both sides are being heard here.
Where's the any key?

Hi,
I've read of numerous problems with NAV following upgrades to ZA 5, running under Win XP and 2k.
This thread from another forum site gives a lot of detailed information about the problems.

As for me, well I'm back on ZA v 4. 5.494 and NAV is working again.
ZA 5 appears to have major problems with some AV and users running XP.
