Ok I Have a very strange problem, I have 2 separate partitions on a 250gb Maxtor drive. Today I restored a ghost image from partition 2 to partition 1, rebooted and I get the nasty insert system disk bla bla bla. So I put the hard drive in another computer which couldn’t read the 250 at all in windows and partition 1 is completely screwed. My problem being is that windows won’t read the partitions. Yet if I boot Norton ghost in dos it can magically read partition 2 with all the files intact. I tested this by restoring a disk image from partition 2 of the 250 hdd to partition 1 on a 40 GB hdd and the results were fine, I’m on the 40 I'm on it now in windows. So I can confirm that the data is intact. Everything I need is stored on partition 2 on the 250 GB disk partition 1 seems to be totally fried. I have tried using a tool PTDD which can also verify that the partitions on the 250 exist. So my problem is how can I get the data off partition 2 so I can reformat the drive even though windows cannot see the partitions at all. I have thought of recovery tools but they can’t browse any of the dirs on the 250. I am at a loss at what I can do. Does anyone here have any ideas that I could possibly try?

UPDATE! I have finally fixed this annoying problems and all I need do was install a partition tool and re-activate them odd. Anyway this all started with a virus lexplorer.exe, I got that cleaned problem solved or so I thought. Then I restart my computer windows boots up with only the internet up no firewall nothing, task manager disabled and turn off and run command removed from the start menu. So with this virus having free reign to the internet and no firewall load of random non win32 apps dump themselves on drive C. I then re-ghost using Norton notice clean as if a format s--- happens again 3 ghosts later, I then post the original post with this dam thing deactivating my partitions. So after fixing that and 3 more ghosts later I've finally nailed it and got rid of it. This virus is also undetectable to AVG, MacAfee, Spybot, Ad-Aware and Ewido. Does anyone know the identity of this thing that behaves like I've detailed? I've never seen anything like it being able to rescrew after complete wipes.
