I just moved into a new apartment and the wireless router is in the basement. I'm pretty sure other people are getting onto the internet through me bcuz there is no network key set up. How do i do this? i have the SN and MAC numbers from the bottom of the router.

This isn't really a Security or Virus issue, but... it would help if you could state the model of the router. I'd move the router out of the basement and put it somewhere more secure for starters. If there's no security on it, then you'll want to set WEP, but like I said, without knowing what kind it is, that's difficult to say how to do that.

Do not use WEP. It's too easy to crack. Use WPA when setting up your router.

The documentation that came with your router will show you how to setup the security.

However, all the info you need is available from here:
