I have a problem with the setup of the firewall on the netgear DG632 modem/router.

When I connect using the router I cannot fully use the windows update site:

I connect to windows update and select 'express install'.
Internet explorer then displays the 'Windows update is looking for available updates' page.
The page then times out, I guess because it can't connect in whatever way, to my PC and gives the following error: 0x80072EE2

I have looked this error up on the MS site and it definitely points to a firewall preventing the update page from working. If I connect through my old adsl modem using NIS 2003 then all works well.

I'm guessing that I need to create an 'allow' rule on the router but have no idea what address/port to do this on.

Any help would be appreciated.

error: 0x80072EE2 is a connection problem.
But it may be related to something else too, like a cookie or a java setting or many others things. You have to very carefully read the MS error report and , sometimes the backgroung Intell Serv is a problem, as it must be ENABLED
(auto).
As for the router, there is a web config page, you can access: Type in your 192.xxx.xxx.xxx
IP and then your password for the router.
REMINDER: You MUST change the password from the default to a secure password,
