Further to my post, the complete line listing from Hijack This for item 08 is as follows:"O8 - Extra context menu item: E&xport to Microsoft Excel - res://C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\Office10\EXCEL.EXE/3000" Should I check this item to be fixed? (I was advised to post the entire logfile only if asked by an expert) Thank you.

That line in hijack is fine...

Are you having specific malware problems?

Here is a couple links for help with hijackthis:

http://hjt.wizardsofwebsites.com/

http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/htlogtutorial.html

If you need further help...post back.

I don't know if I qualify as an "expert" here or not but any time I have asked for hijack log...they have not been deleted.

If you are having crapware problems..

Download ad-aware and spybot.
Update them and run their scans preferably while offline, and antivirus disabled to prevent conflicts.
Let them remove what they find.

Spybot download:

http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download

Ad-aware download:

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/

Ad-aware needs tweaking for best performance..

Ad-aware setup help:

http://www.lavahelp.com/howto/fullscan/index.html

Choose the custom scanning options when doing the scan.

Reboot after each scan/cleanout

Once you have done the above and if you still have problems...then post your log and I will help you with it.
