I'm not sure if this is a hijacking or virus that is on my father in-laws laptop. He had asked me to fix it, but I'm stumped. What is happening is when I open IE in top bar the home page which is displays as Yahoo Y!M ID: hackerz_ihc. Also when I go to log into yahoo messanger it will try to log in before I can get my username and password entered it tries to login by itself. When I do get logged in an instant message gets sent to everyone in my contact list saying to click a link that ends in .exe. I have ran Ad-aware, A-squared, Nortons 360, and Trendmicro Housecall 6.5 and 6.6.
Any suggestions that I could do to get this fixed?

I have ran hijackthis and will post the results upon request. Can someone help me?

Well I figured out where the little thing was hiding that was causing my problem. It was a hijacking not a virus. After looking through the registry I found it.

I have the same exact problem. How did you stop Yahoo messenger from sending instant message by itself? Thanks
