i have the a horrid virus. It has changed something in the WINDOWS folder so that now i can not open a SINGLE EXE file.
you click them and nothing happens and they have all lost their icon.
Is all hope lost?


ps i have anti-virus software but it is very sensitive... i had just made a minor update of windows and thought this was part of it.

lazybunny, See Response Number 2 in the thread at the link below. For the icon problem start your computer in SAFE mode then restart it in Normal mode. This will rebuild the iconcache.db file and should correct the problem.
