Hi,

I just scanned my computer with the Panda anti virus detection program (freeware). The result was that I have a lot of Viruses and Spyware programs installed on my computer.

What should I do? Can anyone recommend an anti virus progam that I should use to remove these viruses? Do I need a program or is there any freeware that will do the job?

I appreciate any help!

For starters

1. Anti virus

AVG Free from

http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/u...

2. Other "naughties"

Windows Defender from

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...

In addition you should "Google" SpyBot Search and Destroy/Ad-Aware/Ewido/Spyware Blaster (all free versions).

Thanks for the help! I got an error message when I tried to install the program. The message read something like "wrong license number". Does anyone know what is wrong?

TIA

Agh..............just read your post "properly": Windows Defender is for XP only!!!! Apologies!

AVG (anti virus) will be perfectly OK as will the other "Google" programs for spy and adware.

No problem. I should have pointed out that it is the AVG program that is the problem. The error message read something like "wrong license number".

TIA

For the free one try Avira AntiVir Personal Edition Classic ( http://www.free-av.com/ )

If I were you I would invest for a license of Eset NOD32 (the best AV to detect zero-day viruses) or Kaspersky
