I've downloaded the Bazooka Malware Remover. None of the HKEY files it gave to remove were in my registry. However, there were 2 program files and I did delete them. Rebooted and guess what? That "allsearch" is still there and so is the tool bar at the bottom of my browser. My Ad-aware program finds it, I delete it, and am fine for the rest of that sessionl. I reboot and there it is again. Does ANYTHING remove it?!?!? I had already downloaded HijackThis earlier this week and put it in a separate (ie its own) file on the C drive. Hi DeeDee, Hope Mom gets better! Don't worry, we definitely will get you back to normal. You say that you still have the "allaboutsearching" hijack appearing; this is the signature of LOP malware and I have taken lots of it off computers. The problem I am having is that I don't see it in your HT log. They may have a new variety, there are already about 10 variations of it. So lets try this: Look in Control Panel/Add_Remove Programs for : 'WindowSearch' 'WindowSearching', 'Lop.com', 'LOP SEARCH', 'Browser Enhancer', or 'Ultimate Browser Enhancer' If you find one or more of them there, uninstall them. Hilight each entry with one click, then click "Change/Remove" button and let Windows uninstall them. Then reboot your computer and check to see if the toolbar is gone. Then rerun HiJack This and post a fresh log and we will go after the other entrys. If none of the above entrys are found,THEN... Download both of the following uninstallers from the links below and follow instructions to uninstall: http://lop.com/toolbar_uninstall.exe http://lop.com/new_uninstall.exe Reboot between each uninstall; then post back and let me know if the toolbar is still there. Well DeeDee, I am glad that your computer is running better now! We have one more hurdle and you should be done. There are four entrys that are baddies: O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\cdlsp.dll O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\cdlsp.dll O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\cdlsp.dll O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\cdlsp.dll Do NOT remove these or have HiJack This fix them. They are in your Winsock file, and if you attempt to remove them you will loose your internet connection. That's how nasty this spyware stuff is now. This is a variation of the LSP spyware, and I do know the proper steps to remove them. But I have never done it remotely on another person's computer, so I will refer you elsewhere as follows: Go here to Suggestafix forum: http://www.suggestafix.com/ Register, and then dial down to "Malicious code: Virii and Trojans, Browser HiJacking". After you run a fresh scan, post it there. You might mention the files just to help, but they will spot them right away. Before long H_KEY ED or @ANOID will be along to help you.
