A friend of mine asked me to install Norton AntiVirus 2006 on their laptop which I did. Everything works fine except everytime a virus scan is attempted, the laptop shuts down completely. It usually shuts down after scanning about 7,000 files.
I have excluded certain folders to see if maybe there was a virus in one of them, but it shuts down no matter what folders I exclude if the scans gets up to about 7,000 files or so.
It never shuts down at any other time, so I am unsure if it is a hardware issue? Any help is appreciated!
