Comment:

I have got these two trojans in my sys32 file:
nailpol-a , Nailed-a

I have tried various programs(AVG, Stinger, AD-Aware, Sophos) and only sophos could detect the trojans. Problem is my sophos doesn't work in safe mode (says something about not being able to connect to network), and when in normal mode the infected files denies the program access. Can someone help?

Ok i have gotten my sophos to work in safe mode, but it still can't fix the problem. It seems the files are still protected. Any ideas?

Please post a Hijack This log so that the files associated with the virus/spyware/hijacker can be identified. You can download Hijack This at this link http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/ then place it into a folder of it's on, such as C:\HJT, so that back up copies can be made and not clutter your desktop or other folders and the backup copies of deleted items can be easily located if needed.

Once saved double click HijackThis.exe, and press "Scan". When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log, Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents into the text editor at this forum.

Do not fix anything yet unless you know what you are doing. This is a powerful tool that can crash the computer if used improperly.

You have a aruora nail infection.

First go to start>control panel>admiistrative tools>services>scroll down to "System Startup Service (SvcProc)" and double click it>when the properties box pops up click stop>click the drop down box to the far right of "startup type>choose disable>apply>ok>exit services.

Download the nailfix utility from this link http://www.noidea.us/easyfile/file.php?download=20050711214630636

Download Ewido Security Suite then set it up this way Ewido Setup Instructions reboot into Safe Mode

Set up the computer to view hidden files by going to start>control panel>folder options>view tab>tick the circle beside "show hidden files and folders" and untick the box beside "hide extensions of known file types" and "hide protected system operating files">apply>ok.

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on nailfix.exe. Click "Next" in the setup, then make sure "Run Nailfix" is checked and click "Finish". Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly this is normal.

Run Ewido and when the scan has completed, Ewido will create a report.txt file. Click the "Save Report" button on the bottom of the screen and save the log to your desktop in case you need it later.

Run Ht again, close all windows and browsers except Ht,place a check to the left of the following items and press "fix checked":

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page_bak = http://www.iwantsearch.com

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe

O2 - BHO: HbTools - {74CC49F7-EB32-4A08-B204-948962A6E3DB} - C:\Program Files\HbTools\Bin\4.7.1.0\HbtHostIE.dll

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [HbTools] C:\Program Files\HbTools\Bin\4.7.1.0\HbtOEAddOn.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [spoolsvv] C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsvv.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [vcrcka] C:\WINDOWS\system32\ibprgj.exe r

O16 - DPF: {6A060448-60F9-11D5-A6CD-0002B31F7455} (ExentInf Class) - http://www.icanal.no/spill/commerce/catalog/classes/ExentCtl.ocx

O20 - Winlogon Notify: jkhhf - C:\WINDOWS\system32\jkhhf.dll (file missing)

O23 - Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

Next navigate to and delete the following files and folders if found:

C:\Program Files\HbTools (folder)

C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe

C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsvv.exe (file)

C:\WINDOWS\system32\ibprgj.exe (file, may have additional numbers and letters )

C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

While still in safe mode run Ewido and when the scan has completed, Ewido will create a report.txt file. Click the "Save Report" button on the bottom of the screen and save the log to your desktop in case you need it later.

Please reboot into normal mode and post the ewido log and a new HT log.
