Nail.exe Problem

Comment:
A couple of weeks ago shortcuts to ads started appearing on my desk top. I ran Norton Anti-virus and AdAware. They both found nothing. I deleted a month of cookies, still no help. Then I found several programs related to Consumer Alert System website. I deleted them. I also deleted my browser because I could see it had been modified the same day as CAS was added. Now every time I boot up, I get the message Nail.exe can't be found. How do I get rid of this? Do I still have a problem? I have very little computer knowledge so if possible, please respond simply. Thank you for any help.

Check the startup items using start>run>msconfig for anything related to nail. Uncheck it and restart the computer and see if that solves your problem.

Checked out the address and most of the information is too sophisticated for me. Did a search of my hard drive and no file called aurora.exe was found. Thank you for the tip, just didn't work for me :(

You will need to run "hijackthis". In order to get the quickest and I believe best help go to spywarewarrior and register. Use this address to get started.

Spywarewarrior was started by a former helper at this forum, but now she has her hands full with her forum.

The reason it is too sophisticated for you is because it is one of the worst pests on the internet to get rid of right now.
Here is one site that claims they have a fix for it.
It may be your only hope right now.
You have a tough one indeed. It keeps replicating and changing file names.
Good Luck,
