A tool bar known as Mywebsearch has appeared on my internet explorer windows. It looks like spyware. I want to remove it but it's no longer in the View/Toolbars. Neither is it in the Add/Remove Program list. I have run Spybot, Adware and Cwshredder but it is still there. Could anyone advise how can I remove it or is there other software I can download to do the job?

Have you downloaded a screensaver recently? If you did your malware came with it. Try this site
http://www.kephyr.com/spywarescanner/library/websearchtoolbar.emailplug/index.phtml

Earlier, I had gone to regedit/find/mywebsearch and delete the files under this name (I am not sure if this is the correct way). But the unwanted "Mywebsearch" tool bar still exists. From the suggestd webpage, I have followed the procedure under "Manual Removal" and there appears to have no Mywebsearch files in the registry. There are icons called "Default" (I believe they are the remains of the deleted Mywebsearch files)followed by the words "Values not set". When I tried to delete them, a message says "Unable to delete all specied values". I have downloaded Noadware as well as PAL Spyware Remover and I have conducted "free scanning". The scan results shows "Mywebsearch" as one of the spywares. I need to regiter to have them removed. Would you give further advice before I proceed. Thank you.

If I remove (View/Toolbars/Mywebsearch) in internet explorer, then my google searchbar is gone, I think this is part of Google's search bar.

I just noticed that if I uncheck mywebsearch then my Google bar disappears, and if i check my View/toolbar/Google then mywebsearch bar appears, it somehow swapped the searchbar from SmileyCentral/Cursor Mania with Google? But just to let you know that mywebsearch is somehow related to the smiley central installation.

!!! - that doesn't mean it's not malware!
that link is from the program's OWN site, so of course they are trying to lull you into a false sense of security.MyWebSearch consistently tries to avoid deletion, even swapping names with the Google toolbar to throw you off the scent. Any program that tries to evade deletion like this can be classified as a VIRUS and so is technically more of a threat than adware.
In my opinion a company producing supposedly legit software should NEVER try to fool its users, and theerfore for that reason ALONE should be boycotted. Several of my colleagues' computers are infected with this toolbar, and I will strive to get rid of it. Once I have figured it out I will post the solution here.
MyWebSearch - you should be ashamed of yourselves!

MyWebSearch has also infected my brothers computer. He also had a toolbar.
I don't know how to delete the program and it's activities, but I have disabled the TOOLBAR. (I guess that it's just unseen.)
I was able to just rightclick on the toolbar and choose 'disable'.
I know it sounds strange because the program and it's activities are very very stubborn.
It also blockes sites that may be a solution for me, but the death of them. a file (system32\shdoclc.dll\pagerror.gif has been changed by them).
Hijackthis.de (direktdownload) maybe a solution, but I'm still finding that out.
