However, for the sake of community spirit - This is quite a broad question with many possible answers: Do you intend to upgrade your hardware, if so, an SSD + 18xxMhz DDR3 RAM upgrades are essential. Or are you referring to software? If the latter, there is no real "magic bullet" for speeding up a machine, but some key things are:|
1) Limit what's launching at startup to that which is necessary for the OS to function, everything else can be started as needed
2) Ensure you have adequate disk space, if not, consider using CCleaner to clear the crap (excuse the pun)
3) Uninstall unused applications (as services will still load, even if processes don't)
All in all, if your machine's slowing down and the above doesn't help, it's time to consider a hardware upgrade and/or a format.
