My-computer-starts-up-by-making-a-strange constant-ping-noice-(blank-screen).Then-I-get-a message-that-it-didn't-start-up-correctly-and I'm-suppost-to-choose-a-system-(just-have-one choice).I-also-choose-to-press-"L"-for-the-last successful-startup-(I-think-it-was-that).Then my-windows-starts-up.When-Windows-has-opened many-buttons-I-press-keeps-getting-pressed-until Ihit-themouse-button-again.And-the-SPACE-BAR does-not-work!But-still-it's-like-the-space bar-has-a-mind-of-its-own,I-think-the-ping noice-and-the-constant-pressing-on-buttons-is from-the-space-bar,but-I-just-can't-use-it myself.Do-you-people-recognise-this?Do-you think-it-is-a-virus-or-just-some-malfunction in-the-space-bar.Using-a-laptop-computer-by the-way.

Sounds like a hardware problem. Disconnect the power, then the battery. Remove the plastic facia under the screen, remove the two screws holding down the keyboard & lift it up. You will be able to see the KB connector. I would remove it and have a really good look at the space bar because it sounds as if it has something stuck under it. I once found a paracetomol tablet causing this sort of problem!
Best of luck.Bob Mitchell.
... but the spacebar seems to have been (mysteriously) working when the Subject title was entered. Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
Thank-you-for-that-post-Bob.-I-will-check-it-out. And-jboy,-I-had-to-copy/paste-a-space-from somewhere-to-write-that-subject-because-it's not-allowed-to-have-the-subject-one-word.-More thoughts-anyone?
.. thanks for clearing that up. As mentioned, it's in all probability a hardware issue, check it out as described above or else seek out a technician (laptops aren't the easiest thing to work on)
