From time to time I will involuntarily lose my current window focus, and at the same time, the alt-tab tray will show an entry called "Snagit Capture Preview", but the actual Snagit8 window doesn't pop up. I just lose whatever focus that I have on the current window I was working on. The Snagit8 window doesn't even show when I alt-tab to the "Snagit Capture Preview" entry. This happens when I don't take initiate any screenshot captures by myself, and happens sometimes when I open Internet Explorer 7.
Now I have Snagit8, and I take a lot of screenshots of my screen a lot using a hotkey, but when I do, there won't be a "Snagit Capture Preview" entry in my alt-tab tray, because I turned the Capture Preview option off. I don't lose any current window focus either, when I take the screenshots myself.
So today I noticed the involuntary losing-of-focus and the "Snagit8 Capture Preview" alt-tab entry again, and quickly check ZoneAlarm Pro to check my outbound connection, and it showed "Opera Internet Browser connecting to Internet". Now this really freaked me out because I didn't even have Opera open, and it was not in the process list. I didn't even have Internet Explorer 7 open either.
Suspicious of a trojan infection, I quickly unplugged my ethernet cable and engaged ZoneAlarm Pro's Internet Lock, and disabled [Server - Trusted and Internet] and [Send Mail] for every program under Program Control.
While doing so, I had noticed that both Internet Explorer 7 and Opera both were enabled as well for [Send Mail], along with 15-20 other programs. So I disabled [Send Mail] for every program.
I took a HiJackThis log after that, and now I'm just waiting to see if the involuntary Snagit Capture Preview happens again.
