Hi,
My professor just told me that he found my email in his junk folder. I'm afraid that the same may be happening for my job applications.
1.Is there a quick way to check if my Hotmail email has a tendency to go into junk folders?
2.Does using my university email reduce the chance of it appearing in junk folders?

Using your university mail will for sure reduce the chance and this is and that is what you should use.
Now that being said mostly likely what's happen is your teacher has either set your address as junk mail or probably more likely is happen is he has blocked all mail from hotmail. I used to work at a college and this happened on occasion. There is no way the college mail system would block hotmail addresses so it's most likely an issue with his account that he has done.
