|It sounds like you have a virus or adware that prevents the running of other AV software. I will assume you are running XP or other modern flavor of Windows. First step is to identify the name of the ad that is popping up. Once you know that, use another machine to look up the method to remove the adware. This usually involves registry editing. (Be very careful). If a file cannot be deleted (Like a .dll that is associated with the virus), download a knoppix boot image and boot your machine into linux. You can then delete the offending file. |
