hey guys, this is killing me. when i'm using my computer normally, it just shuts down by it self. it wasn't like the old ones where there is a box saying it needs to shut down in 30 second or so. I have already blown 1 of my 2g memory sticks. I read in a past post that overheating, memory module going bad, and power supply going bad are 3 causes for a auto cpu shut down but how can i test these to find the culprit. Help would be greatly appreciated and frustration relieved.

does the computer shut down in safe mode by chance? Or if you run a live distro on cd like knoppix does it shut down. If it does then i would look into a hardware issue especially if it does running a live distro
