|When I turn on my laptop it starts out saying|
WINDOWS ERROR RECOVERY
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
If Windows files have been damaged or configured incorrectly, Startup Repair can help diagnose and fix the problem. If power was interrupted during startup, choose start Windows Normally.
My options are: LAUNCH STARTUP REPAIR (RECOMMENDED)
START WINDOWS NORMALLY
Description: Fix problems that are preventing windows from starting.
(IF I CHOOSE "LAUNCH STARTUP REPAIR" IT LOADS AS IF WERE GOING TO ACTUALLY WORK THEN GOES TO "SYSTEM RECOVERY OPTIONS" keyboard layout US of course >next> then a box appears saying Select an operating system to repair and click Next, Only Windows Vista operating systems are listed and can be repaired well nothing is listed and at the bottom it says Load Drivers and Next > I clicked next gives me a choice to choose a recovery tool:
- START UP REPAIR
- SYSTEM RESTORE
- WINDOWS COMPLETE PC RESTORE
- WINDOWS MEMORY DIAGNOSTIC TOOL
- COMMAND PROMPT
(Now when my parents had bought this laptop NO DISK no BACK UP DISK no RECOVERY DISK came with it cost for this laptop Acer Aspire 5100 whats about $1000+ and I would hate just to throw it away when it moneys worth and I need help on recovering or something so it'll work again currently I'm using a MacBook Pro but I'd still love to repair my Aspire and the website truly is a waste no help @ all!)
other then that if I choose start windows normally a blue screen appears and says:
A PROBLEM HAS BEEN DETECTED AND WINDOWS HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN TO PREVENT DAMAFE TO YOUR COMPUTER.
IF THIS IS THE FIRST TIME YOU'VE SEEN THIS STOP ERROR SCREEN, RESTART YOUR COMPUTER. IF THIS SCREEN APPEARS AGAIN, FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
DISABLE OR UNINSTALL ANY ANTI-VIRUS, DISK FRAGMENTATION OR BACK UP UTLITIES. CHECK YOUR HARD DRIVE FOR CONFIGURATION AND CHECK FOR ANY UPDATED DRIVERS. RUN CHKDSK/F TO CHECK FOR HARD DRIVE CORRUPTION AND THEN RESTART YOUR COMPUTER.
