Everytime i start up my comupter avast antivirus does a scan and every day it picks up an adaware called mwinlodt. I always choose to delete it but i noticed that it comes up again a few hours later. This was wierd to me and so i decided to choose move to chest instead of delete and what i found out is that there are multiple mwinlodt infections on my computer. Can anyone tell me what it is and why it never goes away? Also can it harm my computer in any way?

where is the file located? Temp files, restore files, etc?
Have you used the basic spyware tools?
Spybot S&D (be sure to immunize)
Adaware SE (the old version not the 2007 version...I had problems with the new version)
Spyware Blaster.
You may also want to use Spyware terminator as it will protect your PC in realtime.
All of these can be found in my red link

Post back if you have any more problems.
A good combo is:
Avast Free
Comodo Pro Firewall
Spyware Terminator
They all work great together and of course totally free

MWINLODT.EXE is a file recently detected by the Prevx database. This file is yet to be determined globally as Good or Bad, therefore it is currently classified as Unknown. However if it is malware then it may well be caught by the behaviour protection in Prevx
