Hello everyone,
Have anyone run into a problem on their Windows XP where suddenly 5-15 windows of the same program lauch itself? I have see it happen to three of my Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 station and can't really explain why. This is my problem. I usually have outlook, internet explore, Word document running and suddenly I would have anyway from 5-20 copies of Outlook, Word, internet explorer on my taskbar. When I look at my task manager, lots of things will be runing, even things that not suppose to run, like GDI tool and other things that suppose to run in the background only. This happen so random that I cannot track it down. To solve my problem I run a full adware/spyware scan on the station. All the security and patches are install and update. Anyone know the actual cause of the problem?
you can start by listing what scans you have done. Also list your AV, all this will help in giving you assistance
Please don't PM me about a problem...Post your message in c.net Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results as it will help others.
I had a similar event. A number of my usual programs shut down and a number of new programs started up within a second or two. This was just after I inadvertantly clicked on a website link that was placed on yahoo messenger by an advertising bot. I shut everything down and rebooted and the problem didn't come back. I ran spybot and my avg antivirus, found no viruses, but spybot found a spyware program.
