I think I have finally conquered my MSN Virus.

Because your Task Manager, MSCONFIG, Regedit won't work, and you can't access any websites concerning viruses, you have to do it the hard way.

I found a link to get AVERT Stinger. Go to google, and search "AVERT Stinger." Second page, third link. The file is named:
s t i n g e r.exe Run the Stinger and make sure and delete the viruses that come up.

After this, go to google and search "copies of MSCONFIG." First page, second link. On this page, click where it says "Emergency MSCONFIG..." Download this file, and save it to your desktop. Open it, and run it. Make sure you check "launch these utilities" and DO NOT clikc exit until finished.

From here, go into task manager, and end ALL tasks named svshost.exe

Under MSCONFIG, go to startup, and uncheck ALL start up items named svshost.exe and svshost.

Then, go to start, search, and search "svshost.exe" When search results come up, delete the files, and empty your recycle bin. The search "svshost" to make sure nothing else comes up. If another file is identified, delte it, and empty your recylce bin.

Restart your computer, and try and pull task manger or msconfig up without using the copies. If you are able to do so, the virus should be gone, and your computer is safe.

Make sure you have your virus scan and firewall running correctly so to prevent further problems.

Hope this helps!
